Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Keya Paha County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is retained so our team can respond. It is not shared beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads, including:
- Pages viewed, time spent on them, and page-view timestamps
- Your device's IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- The referring website, when one is available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic in aggregate, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. You may block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so can change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Maintaining site availability and page performance
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Learning which content visitors use and where improvements are needed
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Keya Paha County Criminal History does not host, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies request routes for the Keya Paha County Sheriff, the local courts, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and information collected about visitors is not turned into a consumer report or a dossier about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on this site. Information entered there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner sets its own rules for retaining and sharing data. Review those terms before you submit a query because we cannot control the partner's practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Keya Paha County website, Nebraska court and agency systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, that destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners chosen to process a query
- Advertising networks that serve material on our pages
- A government or law enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for information in our care. No Internet-connected service can promise perfect security, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied personal information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Privacy rights depend on where you live and which law applies. Nebraska's Public Records Act governs access to records held by public bodies, not visitor data held by this private site. Nebraska Revised Statute §29-3523 limits public dissemination of specified criminal-history information. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data we hold about you
- Ask for access to personal information in our files
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of processing where the governing law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here and will show its new effective date.
Effective date: July 31, 2026
